AI Operator Program Curriculum
A ten-module sequence for governing one AI workflow, proving whether it creates organizational value, and operating it accountably over time.
Three stages, one chain of work
The work carries forward. Core establishes the boundaries and records for one workflow. Strategic Track tests the case for organizational value. Operations turns the governed workflow into a standing human–agent operation with named authority, evidence, controls, and an ending decision.
| Stage | Modules | Operating question | Credential |
|---|---|---|---|
| Core | 1–4 | Can you govern a single AI workflow? | AI Operator (Core) |
| Strategic Track | 5 | Did it produce organizational value, and how would you know? | AI Operator (Strategic Track) |
| Operations | 6–10 | Can you run it as an accountable operation over time? | AI Operator (Operations) |
Stage one · Core
Modules 1–4 — Govern the workflow
| Module | Question | Principal operating artifacts |
|---|---|---|
| 1 · Scope | What may this touch? | Scope statement; document separation; veto design |
| 2 · Context | What must it have in front of it? | Context package; objective-to-directive conversion; context-decay check |
| 3 · Approval | Who accepts this? | Risk-tiered approval matrix; verification ceiling; veto map |
| 4 · Warrant | Can this record still be acted upon? | Warrant audit; self-invalidating record; enforcement test |
Assessment: twelve graded applications, four discussions, four Operator Journal entries, four knowledge checks, and a twenty-item Core Summative Assessment.
Stage two · Strategic Track
Module 5 — Prove the value
| Module | Focus | Principal operating artifacts |
|---|---|---|
| 5 · Strategic Alignment | Problem definition, measures, tool decision, stakeholder alignment, rebuttal, and transfer | Business case; measurement plan; tool decision record; stakeholder alignment plan |
Assessment: six graded applications, one discussion, one Operator Journal entry, one knowledge check, and a thirteen-item Strategic Summative Assessment. The Strategic credential requires both the Core and Strategic summatives.
Stage three · Operations
Modules 6–10 — Run the operation
| Module | Focus | Principal operating artifacts |
|---|---|---|
| 6 · Design | Human–agent operating system | Operating concept; PEAR readiness; authorized exception |
| 7 · Environment | Identity, access, authority, and deployment | Environment map; access-and-authority matrix; secure bounded deployment |
| 8 · Execute | Orders, coordination, shared records, and span of control | Executable brief; shared-record protocol; span-of-control calculation |
| 9 · Evaluate | Testing, supervision, regression, and incident control | Test-and-control plan; supervision dashboard; regression-and-incident control |
| 10 · Deliver | Value, sponsor evidence, institutionalization, and ending | Value-stream report; sponsor evidence pack; performance capstone |
Assessment: fifteen graded applications, five discussions, five Operator Journal entries, five knowledge checks, a fifteen-item readiness assessment, and a performance capstone. The capstone gates the Operations credential.
Standards across the program
- Knowledge checks require 80% and allow unlimited attempts.
- Summative assessments require 80% and allow three attempts.
- Applications use a four-level published rubric: Emerging, Developing, Proficient, and Exemplary.
- Every worked example is drawn from a real, dated operation rather than a hypothetical one.
- The learner leaves with a linked set of operating artifacts built around one real workflow.
