I’m inviting higher education professionals and students to participate in a research study on integrating intercultural competence (IC) into the undergraduate curriculum, faculty development, and student engagement. This study aligns with UNESCO’s Global Citizenship Education goals and the American Association of Colleges & Universities (AAC&U)’s undergraduate learning outcomes.
The total time commitment is about 2 hours, divided into three parts:
- Inventory of Cross-Cultural Sensitivity Assessment – A 15-20 minute survey measuring intercultural competence as cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) Assessment – A 20-30 minute intercultural development survey, followed by a required 30-minute review of the results.
- Follow-Up Interview – A 60-minute Zoom session to discuss your results and gather insights on IC integration in higher ed.
Why Participate?
Your input will help shape how intercultural competence is applied across higher education. In return, you’ll gain valuable insights into your own intercultural strengths and areas for growth.
Next Steps:
- Step 1: Complete the ICCS (link below).
- Step 2: After ICCS, you’ll receive a link to the IDI assessment.
- Step 3: Upon completing both assessments, you’ll get a read-ahead and a Calendly link to schedule the interview and IDI review.
🔗 [ICCS – Google Forms]
🔗 [IDI – Link with IDI ID and password sent after ICCS completion] The assessment fees are as follows: EDU Standard ($20), EDU Student ($13), ORG Standard ($33), and ORG Non-Profit ($33). These must be given by a qualified IDI QA. The QA’s have been known to charge $150 or more, tests not included, to administer this assessment. I will donate my time for this project and bear the costs of the assessment. Donations for the costs of the assessment will be accepted but are not necessary through PayPal.
Your participation is confidential and greatly appreciated. Feel free to share this with colleagues who might also be interested.
Thank you for contributing to this important research. I look forward to connecting!
Warm regards,
